After two months of living with a lightly damaged knee I decided to go for the process of seeking doctor expertise.
That’s not me….I do not like doctors, drugs, injections etc. But I knew that if I didn’t seek for the science I might end up with a non movable knee.( For the record I did holistic healing and it did work at some extend, but having a folded meniscus I decided that I needed someone to unfold it.)
I knew that by the time I’d see the doctor’s option he would suggest me to go for surgery :0(
So I decided to put my mind and my nutrition in order to be prepared for the process.
• Meditation is the best tool, it reconnects you to your inner self and guides you trough the best path.
• Then with my nutrition, I knew that by avoiding refined sugars and high saturated fats my body would stay out stress.
I incorporated: lots of water, vegetables, fruits, and carbohydrates like beans, quinoa, squash and greens
And then the party starts, from the doctor’s office unexpectedly on Wednesday the 8th of December I received a call telling me that Thursday the 9th same month is the only day the doctor could make surgery on me……OMG….. Goose bumps in my belly, feelings of anxiety, happiness….I don’t know it was a mix and match. “Diana, you have to prepared everything, buy food, organized house, work etc in half a day” I said.
On the 9th at 6:30 am I was getting ready on the waiting room of the hospital, nurses coming in and out, lots and lots of questions about my whole life.
And then one of the nurses said she was going to give some drugs to relax me before the surgery….”No please” I said.’ I am totally relaxed; I don’t need drugs into my body”. If I ever take a Tylenol is for extreme cases and it makes me sleepy. So I ask them to go easy on the medicaments.
Thank God the surgery went well; the anesthesia they gave me was in a small dosage, which was good. And after the surgery I knew I had to eat soft food.
• Water: it cleans and washes the anesthesia out
• Protein shake: the one that I’m having is a vegetarian one. Protein speeds healing wounds and aids in collagen formation.
• Fruit: some energy to go through the rest of that day
That day for the first time in my life (I’ve had many surgeries before) the post recovery was amazing, no dizziness, cramps, or any major consequences. The process I did on me before the surgery worked…YES!!!!!!!!!!!!
Even the doctor prescribed me some pain killers and anti inflammatory remedies which I didn’t buy, for the same reason described above. What I had was some Advil just in case and Traumel and an anti- inflammatory, Analgesic Homeopathic Medication.
Relatives started calling me to ask me how I was feeling; in some calls these were their words:
-”Diana after the anesthesia is over, you are going to be in pain, I know Diana, you have to have the pain killers.”
– WHY??? Why do I have to put in my mind negative thoughts when all I’m doing is healing me with the good stuff…..and it is working??
So here I am, writing this blog with my leg up, rolling around the house with a wheel office chair and with crutches to walk. I know that exercise is a NO NO right now, so eating healthy is a MUST.
Keep Moving, Keep Smiling, WE LIVE ONCE!!!
